On the evening of May 9th, Jones County School’s senior staff, Jones Senior High’s staff, and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department received a tip of a potential threat of a weapon being brought on the campus of Jones Senior High School on May 10th. The school system and sheriffs office worked together to provide officers and staff to conduct a search of the campus and students’ belongings prior to students entering the building. Every student was searched and no threat was found.

For clarification, Trenton Elementary School students did not have any interruptions to their learning day, and no elementary students were searched.
