In collaboration with Jones County Emergency Management Services and the National Weather Service, Jones County Public Schools will dismiss at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, and will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, for students and staff.
Good afternoon, Trenton Elementary School families. On Tuesday, we will begin our mid-year North Carolina Benchmark testing in grades 3 through 5. We plan to test Reading on Tuesday, Math on Wednesday, and Science for 5th -grade only on Thursday. We are watching weather reports closely and will send any information about a change in our schedule as soon as it is available. Please encourage your children to take this assessment seriously and tell them to do their best work. A good night's sleep will also assist them in preparation for testing. We will serve breakfast, as usual, and begin testing. Please arrive on time so your child isn't absent for testing which would require them to make up the test on another date. Thank you for your support as we look to see substantial growth from the beginning of the year.

Good evening parents/guardians of Trenton Elementary, this is to inform you that bus 135 and bus 149 will be a combined route in the morning. Therefore the students will need to be ready at least 20-30 minutes earlier than usual. Also students that ride bus 137 you will also need to be ready earlier. Bus 137 will be ran tomorrow morning the way it was done at the beginning of the year. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

Following this meeting, you can pick up your child's report card and let them share their data notebook with you. Teachers and I will be on hand to answer any questions that you may have about your student's progress.

Jones County Public Schools is aware of a vague social media threat circulating among our high school students. The Jones County Sheriff's Office is also aware and, based on their investigation, has found that a similar message has been copied and sent to other school districts. At this time, it appears this vague threat has no validity.
We appreciate our students and families bringing this message to our attention. Please remind your child NOT TO SHARE these messages with friends on social media, as doing so could result in severe consequences even if they are not the originator.

Good afternoon, today and tomorrow afternoon there will be a substitute driver for bus 140. Also today and tomorrow afternoon bus 139 and bus 144 will be combined. The students will ride bus 144. Good evening, this is to inform you all that school is on a two hour delay tomorrow.
Trenton Elementary buses are to arrive at the school by 9:30am. Jones Senior buses are to arrive at the school by 9:55am. The students that normally ride bus 135 in the morning, will ride bus 137 or bus 129 depending on their address. So please be on the lookout for either of those buses in the morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
