Good afternoon, Parents and Guardians; this is Joseph Noble, principal of Trenton Elementary School. I invite you to our school-wide open house tomorrow, October 26th, from 5 to 7 p.m. We will begin in the Harry Brown Gymnatoruim, where students will sing their school song for the first time. Every student present will participate. I will briefly share a few announcements, and you will hear remarks from our PTO officers. Afterward, we will open our Book Fair, and you can visit your children's classroom and pick up their first nine weeks' report cards. Please try to attend; we need your support and involvement to make this school year successful. Thank you, and have a great evening.

Parents and Guardians, please ask your students for the Picture Day information, which was sent home today. Each student has a unique login from the photographer that will allow you to view proofs and decide which photos you would like to order this year. Additionally, all payments will be between you and the photographer. Please do not send money to school on picture day, October 4th. Thank you, and have a great weekend!

A threat on social media was intercepted, and due to the nature of the threat, the school administration and the Jones County Sheriff’s Office felt a more visible presence would be warranted on campus today. The Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with other agencies, conducted interviews and determined that Jones County Public Schools were never the subject of a threat. We did however feel that additional law enforcement presence would comfort and reassure our students, parents, and faculty that we will always take precautions when it comes to the safety and security of our schools.

Yesterday, JSHS and TES received a report of a potentially armed individual on school property. Immediately, students were sheltered in place, and the School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified. Administrators and the Emergency Response Team, including the SRO, quickly cleared the building using our established joint protocols. We quickly identified no credible threat and determined that students and staff were never in danger. We are pleased with our response to this perceived threat and will continue to work together to ensure our students and staff's safety and well-being. Additionally, we will continue to identify areas that will further strengthen the security of our facilities. We are grateful for our partnership with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, and we thank you for your understanding and support.

Good afternoon, Trenton Elementary School Families. Trenton Elementary and Jones Senior High School entered a shelter-in-place out of an abundance of caution at 2:00 p.m. today. We quickly determined that there was no threat on our campus, and the shelter-in-place was lifted. We will always respond to all situations with the safety of our students and our staff at the forefront of all that we do. Thank you!
