This is a reminder that Friday, September 22, is a required teacher workday. There is no school for students on Friday, September 22.
Yesterday, JSHS and TES received a report of a potentially armed individual on school property. Immediately, students were sheltered in place, and the School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified. Administrators and the Emergency Response Team, including the SRO, quickly cleared the building using our established joint protocols. We quickly identified no credible threat and determined that students and staff were never in danger. We are pleased with our response to this perceived threat and will continue to work together to ensure our students and staff's safety and well-being. Additionally, we will continue to identify areas that will further strengthen the security of our facilities. We are grateful for our partnership with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, and we thank you for your understanding and support.
Good afternoon, Trenton Elementary School Families. Trenton Elementary and Jones Senior High School entered a shelter-in-place out of an abundance of caution at 2:00 p.m. today. We quickly determined that there was no threat on our campus, and the shelter-in-place was lifted. We will always respond to all situations with the safety of our students and our staff at the forefront of all that we do. Thank you!
Good evening, Trenton Elementary Families!
We will be having a Hero Celebration on Tuesday, September 12th! Students will visit with and hear from JCSO, JC EMS, and TVFD during their Media/Encore class. Please be aware that they will have emergency response equipment on school grounds. I wanted to inform you before their visit.
Additionally, 3rd-grade students will bring home their BOG 3 scores on Tuesday. Please review this benchmark to understand where your student is currently; we want your partnership to help your child make the greatest possible growth.
Have a great evening!
